The program is intended for editing the phone's text resources — the language pack. With its help, you can replace menu item names, change the help text, or create a new interface language not provided by Siemens.

Siemens Language Editor takes the phone's FullFlash and unpacks its language pack into a Unicode-encoded LGP text file. After editing, the program packs the text back in place of the old language pack. Single-byte and double-byte code page signatures, service characters, and LNG files from SL4x are supported.

Model, firmware, and recoding table parameters are stored in an INI file, so support for a new phone can be added to the configuration. The program was tested by the author on x35, x45, and x5x phones with English, Russian, and Chinese language packs.
